ASD 2021 will be held at Saad  Dahlab – Blida1University which is  located at Blida. It’s located about 47 km south-east Algiers. The Tell Atlas protects Blida from the southern climate and makes it a propitious region for agriculture, especially citrus agriculture. In April, we can smell the scent of orange flowers for miles around. Blida is famous for being the “city of flours” in Algeria where the flour trade is a flourishing one.

Blida was founded in the 16th century by Sidi Ahmed El-Kebir who is believed to be an andalusian immigrant. Before the construction of the city, a military camp dating back to the roman period was in the same site. The Mitidja fertile plains, the mountain of Chrea and the Oued el Kebir are all associated with the city’s canvas. The Chiffa gorges, a nearby natural area are homes of the Barbary Macaque. This species of macaque could only be found in a few places around the world. Blida has several attractions, among them:

• Ski station at Chrea (1500 m). A cable car makes the link between the city of Blida and Chréa (15000 m).

• Thermal source in the nearby town of  Hammam Melouane. 

• Chiffa Gorges.
